This is a call for commander/volunteers for both the United Nation and Rebel Teams of the SPMBT - Island Civil War Combat Campaign.
To get more information, visit the Campaign Website HERE (http://www.warfarehq.com/index.php?page=steel_panthers/island_war/island_war.shtml)
If interested please DO NOT submit an application through the Campaign Website but post your interest here instead. At this point I really only need 1 per side so, 1st come, 1st serve.
You will need SPMBT version 3.01 to play any tactical battles.

I'm in. If it's still open, that is.Yeah, hang tight if you can. I have a couple players MIA but 1 or 2 to make th eorders and process replacement request, etc. I might need an extra commander or so for any possible SPMBT battles. It will also give me the chance to enlighten some more members on what we are doing here and bump up the total number of players interested in the next campaign.
I would also like to volunteer.

UPDATE - Actually, I may need you both for the Rebel Team. Right now they only have 1 commander active and up on the forum, at least for the last week or so. Whichever side you get access to please remember to keep anything you see posted in the secure areas in confidence.
Roger that, continuing to stand by.

You are both now part of the SPMBT - Island Civil War Rebel Team and have access to the secure areas. Please remember to keep what you see in that area in confidence.

Sorry.Even without the game operational on your PC I would still like to keep you invoved and with access. We support SPWAW, SPMBT and SPWW2 here so at any time there could be a Combat Campaign going on involving one or more of those versions of Steel Panthers. Besides SPMBT and SPWW2 will be Windows friendly by the Spring so I am sure it will run on your PC in that environment.
I too would like to have a go...I a m of coarse a complete begineer at this email game thing but I am willing to learn!

SPWAW runs just fine on my PC, so any time there's a campaign involving that title, I'd love to jump in. I'll help in any way I can with the SPMBT campaign (if there's any way I can lessen your work load). But until SPMBT goes Windows, I've just had too many problems to continue.
Hi
Have all positions being filled or are there still openings for a commander?
Anyway, sign me up on the waitinglist :)

Anyway, sign me up on the waitinglist :)We can probably fit you in. Let me check the rosters. Just so you know that chances are good you'll just be a spectator for some time BUT you will have access to see how the campaign plays. At leats then you'll be trained up for the next one.

I guess both sides have advantages. Are we supposed to choose are are is that handled above our heads?
How large battles are we generally talking about?
Please not the UN.....I have had enough of wearing blue on my head! Besides I had one too many bad experiences with them buggers!.....just kidding either would be fine!
Did you have better experinces with the PNGDF than with the UN?
Well, anyway , there is something special with big white AFV:s and I have never gotten the chance to se if I fit in a blue beret yet, so I guess this could be a usefull expereince for me.

I guess both sides have advantages. Are we supposed to choose are are is that handled above our heads?I will decide once i see where we are at for this coming Turn. The main thing is to get you both involved so you can see how things run and what is involved. This is a small test campaign and if all goes well I plan to do a larger, more historically based one (NATO vs. WP circa 1984-1985).
How large battles are we generally talking about? They can be anywhere from Company to Battalion in size. It really depends on the orders given by the overall team commanders.
I was with a different army! Played with the PNGDF not a bad mob...good jungle skills....but the UN....somedays I was surprised if they could boil water without something going wrong!

Hehe, now what you are talking about.
I encountered an african UN police officer during a searchOP in deepest Kosovo. He waved his big shiny magnum revolver around, had enormous sunglasses and kept chewing on a toothpick. He hade the juristriction (being a UN mission and all) and singlehanded managed to make everybody nervous and disrupt almost everything.
Finally we confronted him on where the UN had found him and we wherent that surprised. He was some kind of mechaninc in the police garage in Accra, Ghana. He didnt have either peacekeeping or any police training.
Just got to love the UN sometimes...
Mmmm..
I liked the idea of small scale modern civil war engagements. Sounded more realistic than a WW3 scenario, but that can be quite fun as well.... can I still play the UN? :D
