I have searched through the forum but can't find a satisfying answer to the nature of the supply circles where some are tan/tan, tan/red.

So i did some experimentation and found out that areas around a unit will have tan red. I tried moving a unit into a tan tan hex and one with tan red hex, both of have same supply points, to see what is the difference. Unit occupying a tan tan hex will have a slightly small rate of increase in supply level while occupying a tan red hex, a slightly higher rate of increase. Tan tan hex and the areas surrounding the unit turn to tan red in the next turn.

So i conclude that, this is my own theory, tan tan does not mean it will supply to both enemy and friendly force. A tan tan represent that a temporary supply base has not been set up thus a lower supply distribution. It is better therefore to retreat into a tan red hex if you are in real short of supply. Otherwise there is not much difference.

Have you tried setting up a scenario/using one where the force supply stockpile is very large (ideally 100)? Often in these types of tests you can produce easily measurable effects by taking parameters to the nth degree.

And have you taken into account the terrain in each hex and what would be the supply value of the hex were it in the supply net?

The terrain, supply value and the unit tested are all the same. Good idea in using a large stockpile, will try testing it.

Would be interested in results and any conclusions you draw...
