Hello to everyone...

I am looking for advice on how to get USA aircraft to perform more realistically with my TAOW II version...

First off, is Patch 1.04 the latest patch for TAOW II (using the Kosovo add-on)....This has confused me...I don't seem to know if I need the patch for TAOW II or for the Kosovo add-on...

But, my question is this, how can I get USA aircraft to pefrom better...it seems when I play scenario's like USA vs Iraq...way to many USA planes are lost.....

Can I get some advice on how to tweak the game so this doesn't happen...

Thanks to all...

How many are you losing?

The coalition lost 38 planes in the first Persian Gulf War.

Well....I'd say I'm losing around 50 to 60 aircraft in the whole campaign.....but I also think that air power should have more of an effect then it is having....

For example, I have played an Afganistan scenario...and I think bombing by USA aircraft should have more of an effect....

Just wondering what other's think....do you feel Air power works correctly or accuratly (SP) in TOAW II???

Thanks

I have not played the game much, so I may be way off, but my gut reaction is air power is underpowered for use in modern scenarios, such as Afghanistan and Iraq. Not by much though.

I have destroyed an Iraqi armored division purely with air power and artillery. The unit was surrounded by groundforces and unable to resupply though.

It took me about 10-12 turns, at half day turns to destroy 280 tanks, plus all the other weapons in the division. That works out to about 5-6 days, so I would say that is not too far off. The only thing is it took almost every aircraft, artillery and attack helo to do it. I can't recall off-hand how many aircraft that would have been. It was in a downloaded Operation Iraqi Freedom.

That is in ACOW, but I don't think there is that much difference from TOAW II. I have played both.

I think that the design of the scenario itself might play a part...

I am not sure though....
