I can't see how the AI rated 5/5!? I must have played a different game. The AI in my version would have the combine soldiers stand their ground (no manuevering, fleeing, infrequent use of grenades). I found the AI in FarCry superior to HL2 in all respects.

I'm glad to see a review article finally taking Valve/publisher to task for the lame use of the Steam engine and an internet connection every time a player wants to play the game (it wasn't a problem for me to connect/play, and I don't know if this was a one time thing...I will have to check that out someday). I do not intend to buy another game if it also has this requirement.

5/5 overall...imho, I do not think games should get 'perfect' ratings. Everything has room for improvement.

Overall, for storyline HL2 is the best, but for gameplay I still think FarCry reigns as king.

Well, it's not really about Doom III. Doom III delivered what I expected it to deliver, pure action nothing more. It wasn't a revolutionary game in gameplay, and I've NEVER said it was.

I liked 'em both. But HL2 was more fun and the Source engine has been better used. :cheeky:
