I believe you.. the US army is discovering what soviet and french armies have done since the 60's...
I should look into TOAW the weight also. I don't want to use the bio-ed, as it would make the scenario i am working on not
"easy "

the more I think about it, I think the only wheeled armoured transport in TAOW that covers AT, mortar, AT gun, IVF, etc. is the Canadian LAV and its variants.
true, the BTR80 has more punch against soft targets and perhaps one should use this one for the stryker APC.
this makes the stryker brigades quite strong in low-intensity conflicts.

People seem to overestimate the problems with the BioEd. In this broadband age, it take thirty seconds to download a modified .exe.

By "easy" I surmise that he means that the scenario is designed to be played using the commercial OPART game engine. If this is the case, then yes, I agree. Using the commercial game engine would cause less confusion and, therefore, be easier.

it is an excellent platform.
If Canada had a larger army, it would be a more effective weapon than it is currently. U.S. can't buy it due to contract obligations with their suppliers for the next 20 years. Why do you think they are using Humvees instead of the 17,000 mothballed APCs (Vietnam era and later) in Iraq?
Because they were supposed to purchase a certain amount of Humvees and parts but will never be able to fulfill their part of the contracts unless, well, some get damaged, or blown up. So I've read. But that, is another conspiracy! lol
:D
1. what would you use to simulate a Stryker vehicle in TOAW..? a LAV-25?
No, a Grizly. The LAV-III/Stryker is a marginally better armoured version of this vehicle - it's only armed with a 0.50 cal HMG. The various LAVs (ie, LAV-AT, LAV-120mm mortar, etc) can model all the other members of the Stryker family.
2. anyone has a TOE for stryker Bde for TOAW?
Yeah, see my scenario 'Zimbabwe 2003'. The TOE I used was taken from the Stryker brigade's website, and I think that my representation of it is completly accurate (though I am biased ;) ).
