This is a single player mod, quite fun so far. Basically it doesn't play straight through like HL2, and when you load it and go to start new game, all the levels are there for selection. However I think the levels are MUCH more interesting (and much harder). Basically they took the HL2 levels and added a lot to them so that it actually seems like a warzone now!

I should add how to install, I never found the directions just did it myself:

And find the SourceMods folder

(for example)
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\SourceMods\

Just unzip it into there, and it'll show up under Third Party Games in your Play Games list. :)

Exactly how do you install the various mods for those of us that got it via Steam?

Got what by steam? HL2? It's the same setup (I got HL2 via steam too). As for the mod, the download is a zip file. Just unzip the file the to folder I specified above.

I've heard some stuff about it, and from a copycat (or was Garry's the copy cat I can't remember).

I don't know which came first, but the JBmod has the welding capabilities and such. Garry's mod has more features though.

I've heard horror stories from those who have downloaded various mods when it concerns Steams interface.

I've never had problems doing it, although this mod isn't offered through the steam interface at the moment.
