CM BB disk help needed

I sent a message off to CDV, but I have no idea how helpful that will be at this current moment (their tech help process was as fun as root canal hehe).

Was hoping I might get a fast response from you guys.

Was given CM BB by a friend.
Disk "appears" fine physically ie not damaged in a way the naked eye can see.

But it won't successfully install.
The install process initiates, loads up the install shield and begins the process, but part way it comes to a halt and claims it can't install bmp.exe.
I can't for the life of me even find evidence that that file is even on the cd.

For those able to assist, here is what is visible when you do an explore of the cd contents.

Adobe folder (single file called ar505enu)
HDA folder (contains single dat file called HD)
Manual folder (contains the manual in pdf)
on root directory there are 8 files

00000001.TMP
autorun
DrvMgt.dll
Readme
SECDRV
Setup

Can anyone with a European Combat Mission 2 cd tell me if my cd is in some way missing files?
Right now all I have is a nice dvd case complete with manual for holding a cd that won't install. And what fun is that hehe.

Just checked my disk and it appears to have identical contents.

Total size is 590MB.

Les, I know I've had a similar problem with one of the CM games. Are you installing it onto XP or W98? I think it was 98 where I had this before, and iirc it does install eventually. Good Luck!

Thanks Doctor S, not sure how long it will take CDV to get back to me, but essentially your reply was what I was interested in hearing.

Full Monty, I have XP Pro here.

I have CM BO as well, it installed no hassle.

Might not have exhausted all permutations under the sun, but my friend warned me it might be a physically damaged cd in advance.
Can't rule that one out.

I would check the CM Tech Support heading (and the topics therein) at the battlefront.com web site. If you don't find the help that you need, you can join the forum and post your issue there.

That route is also open still KG_Jag, but the matter might be moot if a friend's offer comes through for me.
