View Full Version : Does red units increase chance of turn burn?
I have recently had a discussion with one of my opponents, about turn-burns. He had a turn with limited attacks on minimize losses all over that used most of his turn. All attacking units had not moved.
I think that this happens more often when the attacking units are either red or orange. Is this true?
Thanks

having talked with mantis on the subject i remember he told me that high profeciency forces were likely to burn your turn.
though i don't remember anything about exhausted forces
The answer, as always, is "it depends". It depends on unit scale, equipment type matchups, support assets and whether they successfully join battles, etc.
Remember that it only takes one attack dragging on, with too few casualties generated on each set of attacks within a series of tactical rounds to burn out a turn.
So, for an extreme example, if you have a red tagged assault gun company making a minimize loss, limited attack against some large infantry unit, that has poor AT support, and no artillery ends up supporting the attack, then you are likely going to experience a turn burn. This is because neither of the antagonists are going to be causing enough casualties to the other to trigger a morale break and force a disengagement (retreat).

Would this be different if the unit was not redtagged?
Would this be different if the unit was not redtagged?
The attacker, or defender? Neither, or both?
If the unit(s) are not red-tagged, then there is more equipment that is actively firing during the combats, thereby increasing the probability that the opposing unit(s) will take enough casualties to fail the morale check. Then again, if there are more pieces in the unit, a result that might cause a morale failure in one case, might not in another.
It depends... ;)
LoL...I know those "answers" seem rather evasive.

Can't avoid my customary whine:
"...if you have a red tagged assault gun company making a minimize loss, limited attack against some large infantry unit, that has poor AT support, and no artillery ends up supporting the attack..."
then in reality the assault gun company probably wouldn't launch such an attack and it's merely being done to artificially weaken the infantry unit. Sorry. :hush:

Who would do such a thing? I mean on purpose.
