ER_Chaser

As now I am playing quite some new players, and probably I will be meeting new ppls more often in the future, it is quite tiresome to write my preferences again and again in my emails to each one of them/you.... I edit a preference file here for everyone (potentially interested to play with me :) ) to peek at and also please feel free to ask me why for whatever things here.. I guess it might be convenient for other players (frequently playing ..) to set up similar "profile" as well?
Anyway, this is for ER Chaser:
ER_Chaser's CMBB perferences:
Required: (by this I mean, I strictly request them)
1) No winter missions.
This is because the all white winter graphics on screen really hurt my eyes.
There is no other reason for me to deny winter missions.
2) No night missions.
This is because the two night missions I played were plain boring.
I do not want to waste time.
3) No KV tanks in early war Russian defense or ME mission.
This is because the KV tanks in early war (41 to early 42) period are literally
invincible to mobile german weapons. However, if the Russian were attacking, the
German fixed guns (esp. the 88mm's) were effective against them. So I do not
mind german defensive scenario with Russian KVs.
Preferred: (by this I mean, I only like them, but not a must to me.)
1) Totally unrestricted force purchase, including mix, quality, etc.
This will introduce more variety to the game. I like that. Also sometimes a weird
force mix requirement may make the game seriously unbalanced. I want to avoid that.
2) QB instead of scenario.
This is because QB are all balanced IMO. But scenarios are rarely balanced. And it
depends too much on whether you played the scenario before or not.
3) Mid to late war missions.
This is because the mid late war weapon systems offer more balance and variety. And
more tactics. Thus more interesting.
4) 3000 points or more.
This is just to make the game more interesting. More things to control, more to kill!
Notes:
Other than these points, I am basically fine with anything you like.
However, there are some common sense of the game: for example, 3000pts is proper for
medium map, a small map would often be too crowded and a huge map would be boring to
play (you march all the time? What is the fun?). And usually, the turn #s should also
proper accordingly.
Usually if you completely agree with my required AND preferred settings, please feel free
to choose whatever variable left to your favorite. However, if you set on terms, I would
feel it is fair for me to choose the side at least. This is just to avoid rediculously
unbalanced settings.
Important Note about my turns:
I always reply your turn within 24 hours. Even if I cannot play my turn for whatever reasons,
I will at least let you know why and how long the delay would be. Usually I will do this
ahead of time if I could predict it.
Also I NEVER label my turn#s, and my turn file uniformly bares filename with this format:
ER-*YOUR USERNAME*.txt
This way, I will keep my PBEM savefile fold clean and easy to manage. The benefit of this
convention also includes little to no risk of sending wrong turn files (vs. the case when
people label their turn #s.), because you always overwrite the old file with the latest
turn played. There is no chance of messing up the files (since there is always only one file
existing, you have nothing to mess with at all!). My experience tells me that for people
who do NOT label turn #s, I have 0 (NIL! NONE!) cases of wrong turn files. Yet, for those who do
label turn #s, every and each of them had at least one wrong file sent to me. And for many of
them this mistake was much more often than occasional.
