Hi,
Is there any mod out there to turn Beyond Overlord into BEFORE Overlord, that is, Western Front in 39-40?
Thanks
Several years ago there was the Fading Hopes set of mods. If I remeber correctly, it (and a desert war mod--made before CMAK was released)was avaiable from the wargamer site. Also check CMMODS, as they may it and/or parts of it.
Remember that CM mods only chnage the way things look and sound, not performance abilities/characteristics on the battlefield.

I believe you can make a Sherman look and sound like a Char B1 bis but it still is a Sherman. I do not think there is a 1940 designed game in there.
It would be wonderful to smash the Narzees with S-35s or Char Bs though.

I'm entertaining the thought of tweaking some of the early model 1940 Brit tanks in CMAK to have the dark green colour scheme used by the BEF during the fighting for France and importing the dunkelgrau German schemes from CMBB to CMAK then setting up a few scenarios where older Panzer models go head to head with the 1940 Brit tanks to recreate some of the tank battles in France.

Well I've checked the Fading Hopes mod, and to be honest I knew that it was a matter of merely replacing the bmp's, but yet when one replace the Sherman with a Somua it can be highly unrealistic since the Somua had a 47mm gun and the Sherman had a 75mm one , so it's much more deadly...
When will someone make an editor for the vehicules?... Even if the 3d model would remain if one could change the technical data it would be nice...
I don't see that happening (if ever) until Battlefront releases its new game engine in the next CM game. All three games in the current CM series have hard coded units, terrain, etc.
If you still want to play early war on CMBO, I suggest that you get the McMMM mod manager so that you can "easily" swap between regular and mod files. The other option is to do a seperate CMBO install for Fading Hopes and simply overwrite the old files. I did that with the CMBO Pacific mod.

With a little luck the new CMX will cover the entire war.

I went to CMMods.com and saw lots of great mods. However, they were all individual files - are there any groupings of mods?
I'll admit it - I'm lazy. :o I'm looking for CMBB and CMAK mod packages. A vehicle package, a troop package, a gun and accessory package, a sound package, a terrain package...or any combination thereof. :D Any guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks!
