All,

Just for fun I converted the January issue "Capture the Bridge" decision game into three CMBO scenarios.

I did this to test for myself which solutions proposed in the magazine were indeed the more optimal.

For this scenario at least, AG certainly seems to get it correct since I managed to get the lowest number of casualties in the "sucessful" option described in the magazine (which, to avoid spoilers, I won't identify here :) ). Of course, this being CMBO, luck has some effect too, because when I played Option 3 multiple times I got results between complete failure and complete success :)

I'm also going to do another one for the defend the hill scenario from one of the earlier issues too and I'll post those when I get them done.

I'm going to post this to the magazine area as well.

No problem!

I just completed ICS Part IV: Hold the Line!

Here's the links to those scenarios.

Both Option 2 and Option 3 have their advantages and disadvantages. Option 1 is disasterous to say the least. After playing all of them several times, I do have to agree with Mr. Antal that Option 2 is the better option. While it is possible to win using Option 3, you are more dependent on luck to get both the Stug and the Marder before they get your tank. Without your tank, you don't have much chance of holding either of those hills.

I have tried them out and they are great fun...short simple games that test (prove?) some very sound tactical principals that we based winning choices in our ICS stories in Armchair General on.
