Col. Boomer,
Mr. Clark can not do it, so it is your turn, I guess. I would be out for 2 weeks from next week on, I am not sure I would have internet access - or the time to use it. :D
So you can take the battle, and in the meanwhile you are in command as well.
So good luck, I will give you all information we have!
Yours,
Gergely

Lt. Gen. Toth:
Current situation at 10:25 (after UN turn 6):
UN Combined Arms Task Force (CATF) advanced west into Zone C along the road. Unconfirmed reports from air recon suggested Rebel activity. At 10:05, advance elements of CATF became suspicious and deployed from column into line, with the footbound infantry platoon advancing west along the road and 1 APC infantry platoon on each flank. The remainder of CATF arrived into reserve behind the lead elements in the next 5-10 minutes.
At approximately 10:10, a scouting helicopter took fire from a suspected 23mm AA gun, which it was unable to spot, but it did spot a Rebel infantry squad, which was taken under fire by the 2 APC infantry platoons and reported destroyed by 10:20.
At approximately 10:25, the scouting helicopter again took AA fire, and this time managed to spot and destroy a 23mm AA gun after an exchange of fire, without loss.
Between 10:20 and 10:25 the Rebel forces have begun to take individual infantry squads from the APC platoons under fire with a mortar and a mmg. We have suffered 2-3 casualties (exact count unavailable). All squads continue to report ready for further advance.
We believe Rebel positions are to the west of our lead elements by approximately 700-1000 meters. Artillery prep on suspected positions has commenced and CATF reserve has begun to advance behind the lead elements. We intend to move cautiously and scout for possible ambush.
Col. Boomer
Lt. Gen. Toth:
Situation at approximately 10:35 (after UN Turn 8):
The Combined Arms Taskforce (CATF) has encountered and engaged Rebel elements comprising at least part of 1 infantry company over the last 10 minutes.
At approximately 10:30 a rebel 61mm mortar which had been firing on the CATF was spotted. Helicopter led scouting also spotted an RPG team and two rebel squads moving along and near the east/west road. The rebel's are believed to have been advancing east toward our positions. Helicopter gunships took the rebel units under fire and both APC platoons advanced into firing positions as well. The mortar was destroyed along with the RPG team and one of the rebel squads has tentatively been identified as a company HQ. The 1st Ukrainian Mech Company was committed at this time and through the quick reaction of its 1st platoon, one rebel squad was destroyed and the Rebel Company HQ and a MG section were routed. Smoke was laid by the Ukrainian platoon to cover our positions.
We have continued advancing and scouting and have started to take fire from hidden rebel units, causing some casualties. Over the last few minutes we destroyed the Rebel Co. HQ squad and two mg teams, a 7.62mm mg and a 12.7mm mg. At present we have spotted one additional squad and know the approximately location of two others.
The rebel squads appear to be armed with RPG's. One was fired at a UN APC infantry squad causing casualties and one appears to have been fired at a Warrior APC with the UK detachment. No damage was done to the Warrior and we are using smoke from our vehicles to cover our positions.
Overall, UN forces have suffered 8 total casualties, spread among 4 squads. All units remain under control and fit for combat, with the exception of 1 APC infantry squad which has been routed. We believe we have eliminated 3 infantry squads, 1 RPG team, 1 61mm mortar, 1 12.7mm mg, 1 7.62mm mg and a 23mm AA gun.
The CATF will continue to scout and advance on suspected Rebel positions.

Any news from the battlefield?
Lt. Gen Toth:
Current situation as of 10:45 (after UN turn 10).
The last 10 minutes has seen steady to heavy fighting across the line of advance of the CATF.
Approximately 5 minutes ago, the scouting helicopter reported a rebel infantry platoon in front of our right (north) flank elements. After the helicopter suppressed each of the three squads by fire, 1st UN APC platoon and 1st Ukrainian Mech platoon assaulted the rebels and routed all three squads causing significant casualties. Over the last 5 minutes 1st UN APC platoon has pressed the assault, eliminating 1 squad and virtually eliminating the other two. We hope to have completely destroyed this rebel platoon in the next 5-10 minutes.
Along the road and to the south of it, 2 rebel squads opened fire upon elements of 2nd UN APC platoon and the footbound infantry platoon, causing approximately 4 casualties. Artillery was called down on suspected rebel positions on our left flank. In the last 5 minutes, the scouting helicopter spotted two additional rebel squads, one along the road, which was engaged by 2nd UN APC platoon and destroyed and another on our south flank, which is retreating with significant casualties, apparently a result of artillery fire. We will continue to press this squad as well.
No additional Rebel elements have been spotted, but we continue to be cautious and use smoke to mask our positions. We have entered into the eastern edge of some woods, leaving open the possibility of short range ambushes. We continue to scout with the helicopter in advance of our ground units.
Total UN casualties remain light, with approximately 15 men reported as casualties, spread throughout 5 squads. No vehicles have been lost. The helicopter reports that it has exhausted its HE ammo and I request resupply be prepared.
Total Rebel casualties are now put at 5 squads, 1 RPG Team, 1 mortar, 2 MG and 1 AA gun.

Lt. Gen. Toth:
Current situation as of 11:00 (after UN Turn 13). Over the last 15 minutes the UN Combined Arms Task Force has conducted what appear to be mopping up operations. We eliminated 3 Rebel squads, all of which had been retreating or fleeing after earlier combat. Helicopter recon also disclosed the location of what appears to be the Rebel HQ element. Over the last couple of minutes the northern most UN APC squad engaged the Rebel HQ element and destroyed it.
We continue to use smoke and be cautious, but recon has not disclosed additional Rebel elements. We will continue to recon.
No additional UN casualties have been reported over the last 15 minutes. Total UN casualties appear to total 14 men. All elements report ready for continued combat. Total Rebel losses now estimated to be 8 squads, 2 mgs, 1 mortar, 1 AA gun, 1 RPG team and a HQ element.

United Nations Forces, probing into Zone C encountered a small force of Rebels. After a quick firefight the Rebel force was overrun with the survivors fleeing into the nearby woods.
There were no significant UN Force losses.
United Nations Forces take control of Zone C!
