I haven't heard anything. WWI might be a worthy subject for a full PzC release, but I would like to see the game scale be reduced before that happens. Hexes should be no more than 250 meters, otherwise everything is going to have a range of "1."

There is no map editor in these games as of yet -maybe never, so a user created mod would only be able to use the maps included in the games right now. I think the Bulge game might only be a Winter map - and I am not sure any of the other areas saw any action (other meaning maps currently available) of significance during WWI.
I guess what I mean is there are some user created scenarios - some real big ones in fact, but all based upon WWII - (well maybe modern too but I don't have any from that series currently) ... but they generally stick close to the theme of the game itself -I remember someone did a Tobruk 42 scenario for Tobruk 41 - but now there is one in the Alamein game.
Steve, could you post links to the PzC user made scenarios? Thanks

I thik the ones I was referring to are on Glenn's (as in Glenn Saunders) site.

I think there are others - I seem to recall there were links at Blitz.org to some - but I have not visited over there - I tihnk there was a fiar amount of duplication ... (IIRC there is a Cobra scenario for Normandy 44 out there too - it might have been posted to the above thread- as I just dug out the links -did not read them.

Don:
With regards to:
> WWI might be a worthy subject for a full PzC release, but I would like to see the game scale be reduced before that happens. Hexes should be no more than 250 meters, otherwise everything is going to have a range of "1."
If you asked me to DEFINE PzC in as few a words as possible, I would say:
"1 km - 2 hour turns Operational WWII"
To make it WWI and still be a PzC would require 1km and 2 hour turns." The ground scale was picked to math the WWII Battalion frontage.
Going down to 250m hexes (which incidentially is TS\T2 Campaign Series Scale) is no longer PzC, it is something all together different.
In any case, a game on WWI would be different. It would need to have Hex scale maybe as little as 100 yards (like SB) - Large units maybe at Btln level (like PzC) and a time scale of maybe 3 or even four hour turns. One would need to have a batter handle on Unit size frontage to pick the UNIT and ground Scale.
It's funny - we have a pretty cool Museum here in Calgary
Museum of the Regiments
http://www.museumoftheregiments.ca/main/
...and they host a Military Lecture Series where our normal speaker is more or less a WWI expert. But we like to vary the topics and last year he gave a 2 hour talk on Iwo Jima.
I kept thinking at the time that this would be a cool game too - not a PzC but something PzC like. Over 30 days needed so even 6 hour turns would give you 120 turns.
9km from end to end so, say maybe 100m hexes would give you 90 hexes. Maybe even 50m would be better. And perhaps Btln Size units because if I recall there were four divisions is such a small area.
Whatever it is, it is like WWI and it is neither SB or PzC, but rather something different.
Glenn
I really want to see a WW1 SB game. I know it would work and work well.
To even mod the say Eagle Strike is something that one day I might try.
I have several scenarios on my site too...some are duplicates of what Glenn has, but others aren't:

Thanks I had forgotten about your site.
