View Full Version : Possible bug in CMAK 1.02 patch
Having issues with my opponents. I covert the 1.01 files of current battles as the instructions tell me and I send them to my opponents in verson 1.02. Then I have many of my opponents tell me I played the game as a hotseat and didn't open it as an email game.
Now here what happens to my opponents with the new file. The turn runs normally. But, after issuing their orders and they click GO, instead of the filename screen, they get the password screen asking for my password!!
I just read on the Battlefront.com, many people are having the same problem. They are saying we might have a bug!!! The game may think its playing a hotseat game, not a PBEM game, eventhough you converted it for a PBEM game.
Battlefront is looking into it right now. Oh, well........

(Maybe I better shut up, might be an actual bug)
You save, but then you don't mail the saved game.
Instead you reload the saved game as PBEM on your own machine and then you write a PBEM file to disk, which you mail.
You mailed the savegame.
Yes, you do that, but the program thinks the file is a hotseat for some strange reason for your opponent. Many players are having trouble and posting as I am on Battlefront.com.

Looks like BFC is working on a 1.03 patch to fix the 1.02 patch. They took down the 1.02 patch from BFC. They messed up big on this. Folks over on the BFC forums are upset.

I don't blame them! Fortunately, because the last European patch was different to the US version I hopped over to BF to see what the score was. When I realised there were problems I promptly dropped the idea of downloading any patch!

FM saved my tuckus with a timely email before I downloaded the patch.
I doesn't mean I'm going to go easy on his evil narzee hordes,...but I appreciate the heads-up.
Redwolf,
Looks like you are taking BFC to task over on their forum. Madmatt is getting touchy!!

"Task over"? What does that mean?
Of course they are annoyed, but I don't understand how they could assume people are happy with that patch.
What Madmatt says is that basically they didn't do anything about game mechanics because taking all that CDV stuff into account was eating up all the development/coding time. All that was left was non-coding TO&E fiddling and a few unit values.

Redwolf, hold on now, I agree with you dude, don't turn your guns on me. I just said I see you "discussing" your opinion of the patch and Madmatt not taking it well. And folks should not be happy and BFC can run from that fact.

Sorry. Didn't mean to ***** at you.
I can't hide the fact that I am actually very disappointed. Such a great game, and now they take 6 months and are not even willing to edit some ammo levels to give the Western Allies heavier artillery than the Germans.
And what does "Task over" mean?

You took them to task (okay stop here and breath) over on their (meaning BFC) fourm.
"take to task" meaning "to reprimand or censure. I think your reprimand was on point, too bad BFC can't handle the disappointment of their customers.
