I am thinking of starting a new tournament based on the World War I scenarios in COW. But I am going to need some help in organizing it and getting the rules set up. Any help would be most appreciated.

Hey Jeremy, SOP is to get with the section leader(s) to discuss future tournaments. I think we have tournaments planned already well into 2005 so it would be hard to fit in another one in the near future.
But shoot your idea to the folks in charge, and maybe we can work on it later next year. :D
Of course, this is a distant future, but I hope that one day I could invite WFHQ members to "Forgotten Battles" tournament. There is a set of scenarios with common engine - scale, TO&E etc - based on different battles of Eastern Front 1914 campaign. "Lodz 1914" and "Komarow 1914" are now public, but some new modifications are now tested. The third scenario - "Cracow 1914" is almost ready for a playtest. I hope all three could be ready at spring 2005. Each of the battles is completely different, although some units of both sides participate in each of them. It could be interesting to orchestrate a tournament based on the scenarios. I could be the sponsor - there is a price for winner: my paper wargame "Eperors' Last War" based on the campaing :).
The present version of the scenarios are available on:

I'm waiting for the final version to put them on WFHQ depot.
Obviously I don't have the game yet but expect to get it within the week. What are the procedures for getting involved in tournaments? Are there any qualifications besides having the game, an internet connection and a pulse? :D

Those are the normal qualifications .... plus a love of the game! With the Russia at WAR! tournament only a month old, we probably won't start another tournament for a while. But ... I like this idea.
