Which version did you purchase?

Beyond Overlord? Barbarossa to Berlin? Afrika Korps?

Have you downloaded all the patches from the website?

Edit:er,...pardon me. Of course, welcome. Whatever have I done with my manners? :D

First, welcome, buddy :)

You live in Malaysia, use a Hong Kong flag and a Chinese police avatar .. :D ... Well, I guess then at least you are asian :)

So another welcome! There are too few asian buddies here!

Second, well, you just got the game, be it CMBO, BB or AK, it is a very difficult game to play, way different from PC. My advice to you is please please first carefully RTFM and then try to defeat AI. And after you think AI is sh*t, ask for PBEMs ... seriously, that will make you much more comfortable ...

Good luck :)

Welcome aboard! ER Chaser is correct. Play through some of the smaller scenarios with the AI to get a feel for the game and when you get more comforable ask for PBEM's. We have a full range of skill levels represented in our membership. You will find opponents who are also beginners to some very tough veteren players.

Feel free to post any questions or comments about the game here. We are always happy to help.

PzC compared to CM??

PzC is Operational traditional I go U go turns.
CM is Tactical and a hybrid turn based / real time for combat resolution. "We Go system."

CM Units are 4-12 man squads rather then companies and larger in PzC.

Line of Sight is much different in the 3d environment with rolling hills then it is on a hex based map.

Both are fun games at their respective level of warfare.

Again welcome to the site!

Definately the best advice to give a neophite to Combat Mission is to practice extensively against the AI. Get used to the game, how it works and the different abilities of each nationality.

Above all, DON'T GIVE UP ON THIS GAME!!! Practice at it and you will be rewarded with satisfying game play whether you win or lose.

I'm glad to see some other people had the same experience I'm having!
I have never thought myself the next Guderian or Patton, but it's really humbling when the machine opens a major can of Whup A$$ on you!! :dead:
Jeffrey- I still think this is the BEST wargame around- the FPS and the more traditional wargames (TOAW, etc) have their places, but this game gets you INTO the battle!
What really kicks butt are all the mods out there that will "dress up" the graphics! You can get a lot of jollies just out of experimenting with the mods!
Have fun, and shoot me an email when you feel up to a PBEM game. I'm starting to get the urge to take that plunge, as well. Even though the last time I did it in TOAW I got my hind-quarters handed to me on a platter by SiberianHEAT!

Mods? Rockers? Is this London in 1964, or have I missed on a shortcut name again...? :o

It's short for modification - CM lets you change any of the artwork in the game - tanks, men, terrain, you can even change the way the user interface looks.THE site to go for CM mods is www.cmmods.com. (http://www.cmmods.com)

You'll have to register and the site can be a bit of a pain if you use Internet Explorer, but it's the best mod database, period.
