Well I finally got around to downloading the WWII mod, and I do have to say that I’m pretty impressed. Obviously, this mod is much more like BFV than BF1942, seeing that it is a BFV mod. This means that the weapons selection menu, class selection menu, and pretty much everything else is BFV style. One good aspect of BFV included in this mod is the bright mussel flash given off by weapons when fired. This helps to lessen the dominance of snipers and anyone else who takes advantage of the thick vegetation.
The three maps included are Iwo Jima, Wake Island, and Invasion of the Philippines. The geography is pretty much the only thing that hasn’t changed from the BF1942 version of these maps. The most noticeable change is the vegetation, which transforms these maps from empty, barren battlefields, into thick, green, sniper havens. Weapon and vehicle skins have also been modified, allowing them to take advantage of the BFV graphics. Of course, the one thing added in this mod that is probably the main reason a majority of the people downloaded it, is the flamethrower. Not only does this weapon make clearing out a bunker easier then ever, it also shows off the full potential of the BFV graphics.

flamethrower!? I didn't know it was in the package! cool.
I just tried it out. I have to say....it is awesome. The flamethrower rocks, and it is just a sweet mod overall.
