I am a fanatic TOAW fan, and I'm looking for a play by mail opponent, to play any scenario we agree on.
I have the century of warfare edition, with additional scenarios downloaded from the net.
by the way, do you know where I could get patches for toaw from.. as talonsoft seems to have packed it in.
waiting to meet you in a preferably ww2 scenario.

Give me some more time to finish some things I have working, and I'll be open for a game. Shane is the man you want, though, for a serious battle.

I'm fairly new to computer wargaming and TOAW was one of the games I've started with. Wow....there sure are a lot of options to this game! But so far I'm having a blast playing it. At least until I get crushed. :hurt:

As Danny provided, all the TOAW patches (for all versions) are available on the warfarehq.com site.

I've been playing TOAW PBEM for about 2 years now and I consider it the best wargame ever made. In fact, it's the only wargame I play.
As an operational level game, it of course has it's flaws, but overall, there is no better game in existence.

Anytime you want to have a game you can PM me here or on the warfarehq site.

Thanks guys, I'm ashamed to admit that I have never played play by mail, only hotseat with my friends.
So if somebody can walk me through I will be glad to game with you guys.
by the desert scenario was it a reference to operation crusader, a very juicy two player game. the toaw 300 huge desert scenario with about 200 turns is too much.

Also, I would like to try mu thesis on market garden that i devised against the computer, I'm pretty shure you guys would not fall for it, but to try.
Also defending in france 40 i beat my friend as the allies, but he was dumb enough to replicate the historical moves of the germans.
Im shure some of you out there could cream me, even if sedan will hold...
please contact me, or post a reply here on how to play by mail, and we can get on with it, say, a turn a day, unless we agree otherwise on a boring rainy day?
waiting with enthusiasm...

To play by email, just OPEN TOAW to the main screen with all the scenarios listed...and select the "E" button to play by email. Then select the scenario, it will ask you for a password that you will use for this particular scenario...then you do your first turn and at the end you will save the file so you can send to your opponent.

Easy!

I have the older versions of the game. I got TOAW when it first came out. I then proceeded to get TOAW II loved both of the games. I upgraded to XP and now they don’t work. I tried running them as a Windows 95/98 version and they still do not run. I am upset. Will the patches help or am I better off just getting the new Century of Warfare?

Better yet is there a way I can just run them both on my Linux system? I have tried using Wine and some other programs but they do not seem to work well at all!

I would get century, it works fine on my win xp.

So, i post the move as a clip on in an e/mail? If I got that right, I challenge someone to play either operation crusader, or crete.
I dont mind which side I play, but both are faster. so here goes.
my e mail> nels1970@hotmail.com
so If an e/mail comes with a move attached into it, i go to the scenario, select play by mail, how do i get the opponents move into the machine from the e mail, ???
You see? I'm totally ignorant on play by mail, but anctious to have a game with one of you guys.
maybe someone could send me a message and get us going, or select a scenario, and tell me to make the first move and send it to his game.
please let me play one of you guys, say a turn a day?
