What about BF1942 would you say makes it better than other massive multiplayer military online games (MMMOG’s), such as Medal of Honor, Call of Duty, Joint Operations, ect. What about it would you say makes it worse? Post things that other MMMOG’s have that you feel BF1942 is lacking or vice versa.
Just try and steer clear of things such as graphics and sound, seeing that depends on the release date (obviously Joint Ops, which came out a month ago, is going to have better graphics than BF1942, which came out two years ago).

I posted some threads about JO in here. While I found JO superior in the graphics deptarment as you stated, overall, I find BF1942 (talkin' Forgotten Hope mod) superior in terms of physics, player actions and overall fun. JO has the ability to fulfill its advertisement as a "BF1942 killer app" but IMHO it won't until NOVA releases the gamecode to modders so they can create a more realistic gaming experience.
I play Call of Duty but not too frequently because I'm not very good at that fps. The game seems to feel right in all departments except for the small maps. These tiny maps (many but not all) tend to concentrate players and cause frantic gunbattles with nonstop firing! I think this game could really shine if I joined a squad for online play.
I think what makes BF: 1942 good is its modability. Half-Life had the same sort of modability-look at how popular it is now (especially counter-strike). The mods really take 1942 higher for me. There are quite a few quality ones, and each one is like its own game.

One thing I feel BF1942 lacks that other MMMOG's, such as Medal of Honor or Call of Duty have is face paced, close combat. There are plenty of maps in MOH and COD where you can't turn a corner without running into the enemy. In some BF1942 maps, such as Gazala, you may go the entire game and only run into the enemy once or twice.
Though in many ways the large maps are fun, I would still like to see one or two smaller maps included that allow one to find the enemy without walking or driving half way across the desert.

Especially when you're walking through the desert and a jeep with 2 spots open comes roaring past you as you call for a pickup...

Yeah that's true on some of the maps, but then look at Stalingrad and Berlin, both of those are some fierce gun battles, along with grenade spamming (which ticks me off).
