I'm getting reports from people that the source code (or possibly the updated CS source code) was again stolen from Valve. I'll give more information when I have confirmation.

They really ought to stop writing their passwords down and leaving them by the window.

no...no...no.......I've checked a few HL2 sites, nothing yet...Valve would have stepped up security after the first. Nobody would be dumb enough to try it again right after they arrested the first thieves.

Found something
"A 100mb pre-alpha file was leaked through the warez community recently of the much anticipated Counter-Strike Source. Our source informs us that the version looks quite early and if this was infact the latest version, Valve was further behind in development that we have been lead to believe. This of course is speculation, for this file could have been stolen long ago and only recently leaked. In order to run the version, our source stated that the Half-Life 2 leaked beta was needed.

In this writer's opinion, as well as that of our source, this just seems like another sad attempt at exposing Valve, but at the same time forcing anticipated Titles like HL2 and CS:S be delayed further and further back into 2004.

-------------Update----------
HL2World's forum members have invaded our site criticizing this news posts and the assumptions made by myself. It is possible that I was mistaken for a patch that this jb55 has produced using the illegal alpha. I find it extremely disheartening and disgusting that HL2World allows its members to openly discuss on their forums illegally produced patches with the leak of Valve's game. How is that for lack of dedication? I find it utterly immature that they stoop to the level of coming into HL2central's peaceful community and flaming us relentless, where we have not provoked them at all. "

I don't know if this is what "your sources" are talking about or not...

Might be, my sources are anti-cheat developers that keep tabs on the cheating sites for latest developments.

Except this isn't the source code I don't think... Counter-Strike Source is the name of the game, and it says the file that was stolen appears to be old.

Yeah sounds like it. Although a lot of people would just love to get a hold of the CS Source... source...

I hate valve's name for the engine: Source. Makes it annoying to mention the source of Source. Or Source's Source.

I agree, although they probaby didn't anticipate the need for people to be talking about CS: Source's source code since it isn't supposed to be available... They should have just gone with CS2 or something.
