Boys, it's time you voted a new CO in.

While being the opposing Commander, you certainly don't have to listen to me, but I would suggest that Chuck, Dan, and Fading Captain would all make excellent nominees...

why don't we start with a roll call of who's still around. I'll go to email and send out to the last mailing list. I seem to have enough time to do some leg-work. Guess I'd better go get the blitzkrieg scenariow too. It is modern equipment right?

Yes, the equipment is equivalent to the late 40's/early 50's. And yes, OPFOR, as Great Blue, is using American equipment and Big Red is using Soviet equipment. Just a little quirk and I know it is opposite of what you would expect...but I think OPFOR should move first in this thing.

I also would agree with Mantis that OPFOR should pick the opponents. That, in addition to moving first, and of course the shift of victory level in favor of OPFOR, should combine to simulate an OPFOR-skewed scenario. However, keep in mind there is a lot of ground for OPFOR to make up. As I said in the other thread it will difficult, but not impossible, for OPFOR to come out on top. This is as it should be.

Get those teams together ASAP and we can begin.

I'll go with the current majority which, at this stage, looks to be resoundingly in favor of Tiberius.:hail:

well what the heck I'll give it a go. :crosseye:

So far 8 of us have chimed in on the e-mails.
I have heard Chuck and Jamiam on the forums being active.
Major Cat are you out?. His e-mail is dead and that post was ridiculous.

Brian could you adjust the tourney page to show my proud and happy face at the top of the list? :clown:
Please blackout the forfeits from last round, and major cat if necessary
Let's give it at least a week for everybody to show back up, and then get started.

I can't wait to dig in to another scenario!

As regards to switching to Soviet equiment, I'm not too happy with it. I don't mind weighting to the OPFOR (they deserve it),
but can we think of something besides change sides? I say it's Red Capital or bust within the turn limit. OV or OD only (only in terms of tournament scoring, not ladder points.). Who's with me? It's time to end the red menace once and for all!

Or perhaps we could edit the scenario so they go first?

Glad Tiberius is stepping up to the plate!

Now, watch out for those high fastballs, inside....

As for changing the scenario, I say let's stick with the default that HEAT proposed. OPFOR needs all the help it can get! (just kidding).

I'm looking for simplicity and don't mind handling Soviet-style equipment. This way we can get going!

Looking forward to playing, the only question that remains in my mind is who gets to choose opponents?

JoeBob

:devious:

by the way, how come my friggin' picture never shows up on these forums?

Agreed.

None of the rest of you have any idea how much has already gone on behind the scenes. I think that now we've come up with a solution, we need to put this one to bed...

OPFOR does. I'll post about this right soon; I need to email a quick message to the team, ensure who's available for our side; Tiberius, we need you to do the same on the US team and get a complete list of players posted, then we can work on replacements and matchups.

Message to go out to OPFOR in moments...

Most of our guys have reported in.

Confirmed:
Jamiam
Tiberius
JoeBob
Chuck
Fading Captain
Heinz57
Tex
DNeely
Popester

Not yet reported:
Grab
Raver
Tzar
Saber

Let's give these guys a little longer (a week?) to report.

By the way is SATCOM still on your team? He is not shown
as forfeit in round 2, but he fell out of communication with
me in our game before the tourney round was over. If he is officially AWOL I would like to report our game. Please instruct me section leader.

Your opponent (AFAIK) was Liveline99 in round 2. Is that who you are talking about?

Irregardless, if you haven't heard from an opponent in this long, report the game as an OV for yourself and move on! That is too long to wonder where someone went...

Let me know if you need anything else in this regard.

ooops, my bad SATCOM was my opponent in Sands round 3.
Are you out there Gary? Oh well, OV for me.
