I have encountered a strange deployment problem that I have not been able to solve:
I have a large modern scenario (x=300 hexes, y~ 200 hexes, 20km/hex, > 1000 units per side).
In the last version of the scenario, 3 particular air units of force 2 all of a sudden want to deploy on aircraft carriers 10's or even 100 hexes away. The air units are set to deploy by event but the same thing happens even if you have them deploy on turn 1. If you place them on the map to begin with they are OK.
I checked the air base hexes (and all the adjacent hexes) and made sure they are Force 2 owned. I even deployed friendly units on the air bases to make sure they stay Force 2 owned.
The stack limit is not violated. There is only one ground unit deployed on the air base hexes.
I deleted the offending air units and made new ones in their place but the same thing happens. I moved them around in the formation - same problem.
The only thing that seemed to help is to have the aircraft carriers deploy at the same or later turn as the offending air units.
It's as if the aircraft carriers act as "magnets" for these air units. (The aircraft carriers already have an air unit deployed on them).
I do not want to re-arrange formations (last resort) - the events will get screwed up.
I am at a loss - anyone seen a similar deployment bug?
