View Full Version : Variable end turn
Playing a game of Bong Son 66 against Evileye_xc.
The scenario is supposed to go 13 turns. We're now into turn 17. That's about a 25% increase in game length and counting.
Can anybody tell me how and why the game decides to allow more turns after the stated end turn?
Also, has anybody else ever had a game go that much longer as this one?

Shouldn't it state in the mission briefing if there is a chance of the game running over.I know that i have had a couple scenarios end on me before they were supposed too,and i was left scratching my head until i went back and reread the briefing more carefully.
Checked the scenario briefing. No mention of any other end date than turn 13.

Is combat quite heavy with VP's changing hands?
The varible turn end is meant to prevent a last ditch grap at VP's knowing the game wiould end.

All scenarios can potentially run several turns past the initial starting point, so unless the designer is using the event engine to possiblely have it stop before the listed endturn, there's no need to put it in the briefing.
I"ve never seen one last more than 3 extra turns though.

I've had it last 10 extra turns. VP's were changing hands like mad...It was very frustrating.

What about early? I've had games end 3 turns early. Same general idea?
VP locations have remained in my hands from about turn 9-10 on. They did switch back & forth at the beginning of the scenario however.

I just wish it would end! My NVA and VC guys are still getting creamed out there!! No matter how many mad desparate assaults I make Tigersqn's Air Cav are too well dug in. :hurt:
