There are now eleven proven external events. Well, ten and one-half really, since the theater option can only function as a news string.

The longer TOAW is around, the bigger the scenarios get, and the event editor with a max of 500 events is often cursed.

The number of events to be saved definitely varies. Of those scenarios I examined, four was the smallest number of events for one scenario. The average is over nine. I will be saving seventeen in the scenario I’m making.

This was started because the variables are retained in a saved game. So start a scenario with just the variables desired. Save the game. Open the saved game file in the editor; take out those particular events, and use the whole 500 for other events. This would become the foundation for building a scenario.

The demo proves this is possible, but only for the proven events.

There are some scenarios no one wants to redo in their entirety. Who can blame them; a scenario is a lot of work. Yet the desire for extra events exists. If one is going to work on a completed scenario to gain these extra events be very careful and backup often.

The necessary steps are:

1. Identify your external events. Change all other turn 1 events to turn 2 or later, (I use 888). Do not use no event or no trigger.

2. If necessary change units being event or turn deployed on turn one.

3. Save a separate map file.

4. Save the changed file.

5. Run the changed file, moving nothing, just end your turn.

6. When force two is active save the game file.

7. Open the saved game file

8. Take out the identified external events.

9. Undo all step 1 and 2 changes.

10. If pestilence is one of your external events, you need to adjust unit equipment, or accept the changes that resulted.

11. Import the previously saved map file if the zones of control changed.

12. Do not forget any necessary changes to the replacement pools.

13. Add the desired new events and save the scenario file.

If you can correctly accomplished this the first time, congratulations.
