That series is by far one of my favorites ever made. Best of all it is based on the best fighting force in the world. I served in Iraq and I can't wait to see if it depicts combat in a middle eastern urban environment realistically.

Close Combat Marine was turned into a commercial version called "Road To Baghdad" available for about $20. It reworks the maps from CCM, including Iraqi forces, Cobra AH CAS, and Harrier CAS missions. It is not quite the complete game that the previous 5 were, but it is more than the training tool developed for the Marines. The CC gaming community do not give RTB many starts but are hopeful that it will serve as a basis for some good modern day mods. One limitation of the new version is that most of the modern weapon systems are somewhat effective at max ranges on the maps which tend not to be more than 1km square. This makes anything in sight a potential target and reduces the fun of maneuvering forces into tactically strong positions in order to bring to bear the less effective weapons of WWII. Anyone else seen this game out there? thoughts?
