Guys,

I hear a lot of good things about this game, which I don't have.

Is it still available in the UK ?

Would you recommend it to someone who hasn't got it yet, or is it too old now ? (Please don't kill me! ):nofear:

Only you can be the final judge. But if you want my opinion, the system has given me 4+ years of unsurpassed enjoyment!!

Like ASL, I don't think the CS system will ever get old.

I find myself playing the CS series 3 to 4 times per week and I always come back. The possibilities with the system are endless!

Take a chance. Pick up East Front II, I'm sure you won't be sorry.

Thanks and Happy Holidays!

Thanks guys.

First thing to do is see what I get at Christmas, family duty may dictate playing what I'm bought for awhile. :(

After that though expect a challenge or two ...:D :D

I've found the game to be wonderful. It is chess on the battlefield (i.e. highly strategic). Replayability is virutally infinate. There are mods that allow simulations such of eras like the Viet Nam conflict and a WWIII conflict between the US and USSR. I've even seen a Black Hawk Down battle!

Over the past week, I've had a chance to play the Combat Mission game which is toughted as a wargamers dream. It is good, however, I still like the older CS better. CS is faster moving and more chess-like. It's more closely resembles the board game squad leader.

And this is perhaps a good place to point out that your attraction to the game may depend on your affinity for a complex strategy game that resembles a board game, but which has an awsome engine to drive some cool calculations (visable hexes on the map, terrain that can be approached on the map, combat results, etc.).

As for what you purchase, I'd look into the World at War. In the States its the same price as the individual games and offers the full range of WWII games (excludes Divided Ground).

Hope to see you gaming here soon!
