Any SPWaW fans hanging out around here?

I saw the magazine at Barnes and Nobles yesterday and figured I'd pay this site a visit after I signed up for a subscription. ;)

Hey, Orzel how is it going?

Cool to see you here. Yes to the Gurnee thing, been busy.

Anywho...

Fancy seeing you here my friend. ;)

We will do the Gurnee lunch and scenario designing once the new 8.2 OoB's are released...and the community will then have it's first look at the re-vamped units and values.

Niko...I have every version of SPWAW since 5.0. For Pbem and online battles I still prefer Panzer Leo's H2H mod. It does a nice job of keeping intel about your foe to a real world standard.

If anyone else wants to learn more about Steel Panthers visit the Matrixgames website and get the free download. Then be sure to visit SPWAW.com to meet some of the community members and pick up some great scenarios! :toast:

My wife hates Steel Panthers with a passion that is unsurpassed... she regrets to this day ever getting me SP1 for Christmas that year....

Does anyone else have that kind of problem in their family?

RetPara,

Yes,

My wife has "that look" when she speaks about "THAT GAME" and the conversation usually ends with something about the keyboard going into the lake or some type of fire or the fact that she is going to bury me under...

I tried to tell her about my old ASL days and tried to say, "Hey at least I am not wanting to go over to Mike's house for 14 hours". But that does not work either.

Does your wife say sarcastic things like "Okay, go spend more time with your "OTHER" girl friend"? Implying of course the PC and SP.

Where can I find a copy of SPWAW to download? I tried the one at Matrix and it takes 5 bloody hours. I have broadband, and I get impatient when one of the songs takes more than 5 seconds. I know it all has to do with bandwith, but could someone point me to some secret site that I may not have found. Been searching all day today for it.

YAY for me. I found a full copy that only took about 45 minutes to download. Haven't played it yet but did get it up and it does work on XP. Also downloaded the 8.01 update for it :-D Will play it tomorrow at work and see how it goes

I get the look from my mom when I spend to much time on my laptop. Also she cant stand when I watch the History Channel. My response is, at least its not porno. My mother says I watch it 25 hours a day. But sheesh, how else am I gonna learn
