Hi,

I am wondering if there is enough interest to add the "modern campaign" series from HPS Simulations as a category under "Modern Military Simulations" at warfare hq forums.

As many would know, the titles include Mideast '67, Korea '85, Fulda Gap '85 and North German Plain '85 (the last three titles being Cold War games). The primary developer is John Tiller, who is known for the Panzer Campaign series and before then the Campaign Series (Talonsoft? - I am not sure).

I have recently ordered North German Plain '85, newest in the series, and would like to find some pbem opponents after it arrives by post.

Thanks for any consideration by Warfare HQ. I have NO idea how popular these games are compared to others in the "Modern Military Simulations" forum list.

I have found that I love the Panzer Campaigns series...(time to eat my speculative words of the past) but have never played the modern games.

I know Switchback is interested in them as well. However most people who own and play this series seem to be commited to other ladders. You will find no shortage of players at the Blitz.org club for the Modern Campaigns. There was not enough interest to keep the Panzer Campaigns section open here once upon a time. So unless there is a huge public outcry for it you probably won't see it here any time soon. I plan to pick up North German Plain eventually but it will be a while.

Kind of sad because like I said I enjoy the game system, but again you should have no problems finding players.

Yes I have to vouch that I love the modern campaigns series, but alas I doubt a forum will get off the ground at WFHQ, I posted a thread with this topic before and there was little response.

But still its impossible to impose on people what they are not intersted in playing, so us quiet few will have to accept it ;)

You guys need NGP'85 IMMEDIATELY!! In fact Korea'85 too. In fact they are ALL great games. FG'85 needs a patch to bring it up to NGP standard and fix air interdiction which is very important. Also, NGP has been expanded to include the fulda map as well giving one the entire German front to play with. So if you like FG'85 at all, you'll LOVE NGP'85.

I strayed away from war gaming for quiet some time and instead opted for games like Far Cry and Doom 3. The HPS modern campaigns series changed all that. The only war games I even play now are FG '85 and NGP'85 although Korea '85 is on my list of must buys.

If you guys were to take this idea and run with it I would be on this side of the house a lot more.

Marines,

It has been decided to add a section to support Panzer/Modern Campaigns, BUT we need volunteers to man the section!!

I have offered to be help but my time is minimal since I am committed to the Combat Mission HQ.

We need some enthusiastic volunteers to get this section up an running.

My time is limited as well but only when it comes to playing these games. The majority of my posting is done during work (I hope the IT dept. is not watching :scream: )if you need people well count me in.

Im a engineer in our IT department, and I do the same :D , in fact the vast majority of our IT department, including the administrator are frequent posters on forums from work :D

I would certainly love to be a moderator for this section, its just time really, which is quite sad, as I love these games :(
