Well, AFAIK if you want pictures to be displayed you have to put an URL with the picture in after an img in brackets...
Else you have to attach them to your post.

you make it sound so simple ,why isnt it?
Simply attaching the file doesnt work, and I have no website to post it at.
Oh well I guess the AAR section will remain a boring place.

You can't attach a file??? Or can't you make it be shown as an attatchment???
AFAIK the last thing is normal, maybe it is possible to post the picture first as an attachment and then use the attachment URL as Image URL...

There are limits to how large the file can be. You tried to attach it as a .jgp file? If you tried this and it failed, what exactly happened. It should be a simple process.

1. Start a new thread or add a post as normal
2. Scroll down and click on "Manage Attachments" (see manage.jpg below)
3. In the new window that just opened, click "Browse" and find the image you want to upload (see up.jpg below)
4. Click "Upload" (see up2.jpg below)
5. When it finishes loading, close the window (see close.jpg below)
6. Submit your post and you are done!

Unfourtunately the file is to big,a .bmp file. Can you save it as a .jpg in your photo/image editor program? I usually do this to keep image file size under control.
Can I upload a zipped file?I would think so.

Double Deuce,
What program do you use to change it to a .jpg file? The image program resident to win 98se doesnt work.

Actually Skirmisher - there are so many image editing programs out there a better question might be to turn it around on you and ask what programs you might have?
( lots of times if say you got a digital camera, or a scanner, sometimes a printer you will get some programs with them - usually one will have some sort of image editing software on it.
Its possible that you have one but never even used it ... one of my favorites (although not the most expensive or powerful editing software ) is Photosuite 4.0 (which is a few years old and a few versions removed from state of the art - but I like it) ... does it. . . Of course Photoshop will ( but chances are you don't have that - and I would not recommend buying it unless you have a few hundred dollars to blow).
If you are considering buying image editing software - I would say go to Froogle.com (google's e-commerce search engine) and just type in 'image editing software')
I guess the point is that there are lots of titles out there -- but the trick is getting one that fits your budget.

I am able to view the new file (a .jpg file of what was a .bmp file)in the imaging program I have here but when I upload it to the post it says thats its not a valid file.
I downloaded the trial version (60 days) of JASC software's Paint Shop PRO 9,figured I'd might as well go straight to the mother of all imaging programs.
Everything works now,I was able to attach an image to the AAR post.

Thought I would sticky this for reference for those of you wanting to post screenshots for your AAR's. See POST #9 (http://www.gamesquad.com/forums/showpost.php?p=181785&postcount=9) of this thread.

The link to Post #9 is no longer valid. Is there a new URL to link to?
BTW: Two good picture hosting sites are:
Imageshack (http://www.imageshack.us)
or
Photobucket (http://photobucket.com)
Both are free and easy to use. Imageshack generates little thumbnails to insert into your posts (expandable when clicked) while Photobucket usues full-sized images. Check out my blog for an example of both.
