Quote: Take Russia. Bring War.

Frontline: Road to Moscow is in beta. Check out the beta sign-up page to be part of it!

Players command the German army through some of the most famous battles of the war, leading the mighty Wehrmacht on towards Moscow.

The variety of maps and battle situations is what makes Frontline so different and engaging: players are confronted with blitzkriegs, trench wars and dog fights, but also unusual situation such as missions to capture an armoured convoy, recover important documents, capturing strategic positions and destroy fortifications.

Units will upgrade throughout the game, based on combat success and experience. This will prove to be an extremely powerful tool to progress in the game providing the players with a personalized army depending on their style of play.

30 battle scenarios: all inspired by historical missions which took place between the summer of 1941 to late 1944

Land, naval and aerial combat: all units have strengths and weaknesses encouraging different uses, adding an extra strategic layer to the game. There are over 100 of them!
Unlock and upgrade: units will develop unique abilities based on the style of play. New units become available when progressing through the campaign>
Maps are created to reflect the real terrain and their dramatic impact on gameplay
A unique visual style: Frontline looks different from any other strategy game you’ve played

World of Darkness Cancelled

Forums: Latest Threads - Mon, 04/14/2014 - 20:43
Why am I not surprised:

http://www.bluesnews.com/s/150689/wo...ness-cancelled

Quote: CCP Games announces they have halted development of World of Darkness, the MMORPG based on the tabletop RPG of the same name. The announcement does not make it sound like the project will be resumed, and includes word that 56 employees at their Atlanta, GA studio have lost their jobs, and that the remaining staff there will focus on games in the EVE Universe, which they say is the first time the entire company has been focused on EVE since 2006. I think with games like Elite and Star Citizen on the horizon, CCP is very worried about the future of their company.

Sovereignty: Crown of Kings

Forums: Latest Threads - Sat, 04/12/2014 - 16:30
This is the first fantasy 4X game that sounds really interesting to me:

http://www.thelordzgamesstudio.com/s...rown-of-kings/

Quote: Take up the mantle of power and rule your realm. The victor writes History. May the promise of glory and immortality go to you, sovereign. Long may you reign…

Sovereignty is being developed by The Lordz Games Studio, Illustrious and Gothic Labs.

The Game in 8 Words: Risk meets Master of Magic meets Panzer General.

Sovereignty is a turn-based fantasy strategy game for the PC. It combines a kingdom management campaign game with a general’s level tactical battle game.

In the campaign game, Sovereignty offers rich historical rivalries, backstabbing intrigues, magical research, trade routes, naval escorts, unique units, heroes, and of course, WAR. Each Realm is hand-crafted with its own culture, history, complement of units, spell trees, and diplomatic relations.

But Sovereignty is not just a campaign game. It is also a tactical game. In times of war, heroes serve as generals of armies. And where hero armies meet, we zoom into a tactical hex-based battlefield. Move individual units. Destroy your enemy. Take objectives. Win the day!

Features:

Campaign Game

Turn-based province system
Rule one of 35 Realms, each with its own culture and play style.
Multiple Races: Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Orcs and Undead.
Recruit Heroes, lead mighty armies. Build a navy to rule the seas.
Resources, Trade Routes and Landmarks enrich the basic Economy of a Realm.
Research and cast powerful Realm Magic. Each Realm has its own Spell Tree.
Campaign Missions
Conduct Diplomacy
Automated micro management

Tactical Game

Turn-based hex maps. Zoom into the actual province straight from the campaign map.
10 unique Units for each Realm
Units may be awarded medals for valor in battle and gain new abilities
Special Unit abilities such as Mobility, Mariner and Dragonslayer
Play a Battle Card at a key moment to swing the tide of battle. Seeing the great work this studio did with Panzer Korps, this could be quite good!

EDIT: Wow, I just see that this was originally scheduled to be released in 2012! That's a tortured development history. I hope it was only delayed by the success of Panzer Korps and not due to something more fundamental.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Announced

Forums: Latest Threads - Thu, 04/10/2014 - 00:57
One of the few bright spots in recent gaming years has been the Borderlands franchise. The original was great, and I am thoroughly enjoying the second game. Like Stalker, Borderlands is just one of those rare games where great mechanics have combined with a great (and original) lore to make something greater than the sum of its parts. So I am thrilled that in addition to the forthcoming RPG from Telltale games, we are going to get a new title to hold us over until the inevitable announcement of Borderlands 3. I present:

BORDERLANDS: THE PRE-SEQUEL

I can't wait to play as a Cl4P TR4P!

There are some really good ideas in this game. I love the moon-setting! I am a bit nervous that the game is being farmed out to 2K Australia, though. Clearly, Gearbox is a bit busy working on something else.

I do find it interesting that the game ISN'T being released for the next gens, just PC, XBox 360 and PS3. Strange decision, that.

Regardless, more please! :supper:
